Bright at Day, Dark at Night

Hello!

I know I was hiatus for two months. I was busy preparing for my assessment I barely had time to rest. I am currently back in Indonesia to spend my holiday and I am going to Bali on December *yeay!*

Anyway, it's already Winter in other part of the world. Too bad neither Singapore or Indonesia have Winter as we are tropical countries. That doesn't mean that we can wear dark lips as well! So here are 4 lipsticks that I think is appropriate for the trend.

Bare in mind that these swatches were photograph with natural light. These lipsticks is quite bright with natural light but can be really dark and vampy for evening occasion.

The first one is Revlon Matte Lipstick in Fabulous Fig. It's a deep red with brown undertone that is not drying at all. It has good colour payoff and it's opaque as well. I usually wear this on daily basis as a stain-like lipstick where I dabbed some on my lips and sheer it out with my finger.

Next is from Revlon as well, but it's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Seductive Sienna. It's a matte deep red that looks similar with Fabulous Fig but slightly deeper. It's drying my lips so I don't really wear it often. It does look similar and you really need to pay attention to spot the difference. I prefer Fabulous Fig though.

Moving on to red, this is Topshop Lipstick in Hazard. It's a famous shade for red lips lovers out there. It has a neutral, slightly blue undertone and makes my teeth look whiter. The finish of this lipstick is also matte. It doesn't dry my lips but still not as rich as Fabulous Fig. If you wear it at night or low-light environment, it can turn into a burgundy which is quite vampy.

Last one is from L'oreal and it's called Arabian Night. This shade reminds me of Lorde's famous purple lips. This one is the darkest shade among four of them. It's a deep cool purple that can look really dark on a low-light environment. It has a slight sheen to it but mostly matte. It feels very comfortable on the lips just like Fabulous Fig.

I personally prefer these kinds of shades that can change their intensity of colour based on the light so that it will be appropriate to wear it day and night. Fabulous Fig is my favourite because of how it is so comfortable to wear and the colour is just beautiful!

Which one is your favourite? Do you have any favourite dark lipstick?
